We're Almost There

So, the first year of my college career is coming to a close. With only two weeks left this year is slowly ending and people are finishing up their classes and packing up their stuff. We can all look back on this year and see the long journey we've been through. All of the ups and the downs, we've all made it through and now it's time for a little bit of a break from one another. A much needed break to say the least.

We started off the year with a huge group of 20 to 30 friends. Of course this was too perfect, to say the least. This number diminished to only a few that remain close. Those 30 friends branched off and made smaller cliques and now those are stronger then ever. While we may not be friends with all still, we still have the memories of when we were all together. I do admit I wish we can go back to those days of having a huge group to fall back on but I am more than happy with the small group I'm left with at the end of the semester.

This summer will be the real test for all the relationships that have been created throughout the past year. Not only the romantic relationships, but even the friendships. Miles separate us, but we have cars, money for gas, and love for one another and no distance will stop us from hanging out. I plan on working a ton this summer and hoping to volunteer at a nearby hospital while still maintaining a relationship and friendships. How I am going to do this is the real question, but my friends completely understand what I need to do. I'm sick of being broke at school so I want to work as much as possible to save up for school next semester.

Hopefully next year will be as jammed packed with excitement as this year. I can only hope for the best!

Relationships are Made to be Broken

So judging by the title of this post, you could probably guess there has been a bit of relationship, may we say, excitement within our friends lately. While some yes is exciting, some is not even close. There have been a few relationships within the "family" throughout this year that were either re-kindled or made new. For sake of their privacy, I won't use any names of course.

The first of these relationships was two students who knew each other from high school and have been on and off for a while now. They had finally gotten back together this year and have been doing so well together and were so happy, so we though. Sadly, last night they broke it off because they just couldn't be together anymore. Little did some of us know, they had been having trouble for a while and were talking about breaking up. Honestly in my opinion, it was not worth the fighting and arguing they constantly got into. No relationship is obviously that well off if you are just arguing. There really is no happiness in that. So we'll see what happens with our friendships since they're not on the best terms and we are all friends with both of them ...

Second we can put a name on it, because it's me. I had found a boyfriend the beginning of this year. He was one of my best friends I had met at this school and we just hit it off. This is that story that won't end sadly, and is more exciting. Technically we've been together for only 3 months now, tomorrow, but its really been since first semester, so almost 5, 6 months. We've had the slightest bit of problems that were completely forgotten and couldn't be any happier than we are now. I'm thankful that I am included in the exciting part of this post ...

Next, and finally last, is these two students who also just met at the beginning of this year. One had a significant other when they did met, but finding out it wasn't the first time that person was not faithful, it was overlooked pretty much. We all thought they were happy, and she did everything she could to make him happy. Little did we know till recently happy is far from what they are. He mentally abuses her over and over again and she goes back for more. Last time there was a huge blow up we all gave him one more chance to make up for it, and so did she. Well that obviously meant nothing, he hurt her again, and she ONCE AGAIN went back with him. There is a great deal of tension now because none of us really know  how to respond to them anymore ...

Well hopefully all the sad stories will work out and the excitement will continue on. Its frustrating to watch all of this happen, especially with close friends. We just have to remember it's college. There are going to be more opportunities and its how we handle those opportunities is what guides us to where we go and tell how things are going to turn out.

Another Family Filled Week

Throughout this week, I have spent I think majority of my time with my family here at Stockton. While yes I do spend countless hours with them every single week, but this week I think I may have left them for a couple hours maximum; some nights I even slept there. Part of this was honestly due to the whole threat scare we had on Wednesday. While there are threats all over the country throughout schools and nothing happens, I had a bad feeling about that day and would not move from the dorm. My initial plans for that day were to go to class, but that was only because I had an exam. Once I found out that my exam was postponed, I immediately grabbed food and clothes from my room and stayed in the dorm with my closest friends. While it seems that I over reacted to the situation, I rather have that then something bad happen while I'm out on the campus. Some of my friends stayed in too but they were taking advantage of the day off (kind of).

Last night I had my best friend from high school, Allison, come and stay over. We attended the "Night of Sex" in the PAC and had a blast together. She goes to school far away in North Carolina so I rarely get to see her anymore. She is basically my twin and I love spending time with her because all we every do is laugh and talk about the most random topics. I introduced her to my entire family here at Stockton last night also. While a few of the boys were kind of set back and didn't know how to approach her, others became instant friends with her. Finally those few boys got the guts to actually talk to another pretty girl. I'm so glad she got to come and visit and I cannot wait to see her this summer when school lets out.

I had a stressful week as always, but my honors boys were there to help me out. My exams were pushed onto the same day and I had a lot of information to go over. The exams went pretty well but I can only keep improving. Thanks to my boys I am actually starting to understand everything.

Back from Break

The past week was our school's Spring Break. It was a great week to finally relax, go home, and no worry about any school work. Some students chose to stay on campus during the break, but I had more important things to do then sit around in a dorm and party all week. While that could have been fun, I had the joy of searching for a summer job ... what a joy it was. Well I didn't get a definite job for the summer, I have three definite potentials. Hopefully two of the three will pull through for me and I can finally make some money. Being at school I realize how important it is to have money, especially when you want to treat yourself nicely, or go out every once in a while. Having no money does allow me to do pretty much anything. I can't go out to eat, shop, or go anywhere because no everywhere you go charges admission, anywhere fun at least. Hopefully this summer I will work almost every day at a decent pay and save up for next year. I know I won't have much time for friends, but I am not too worried because there are a few people I will ALWAYS make time for.

Being home I also realized how many friends have actually stuck with me throughout the years of high school into college. I have my close friends here of course, but back home there are only a few I would go out of my way to see. While some people may see this as me having a small amount of friends, I see it as having a group of friends who I actually care for and who actually care for me. I'm thankful for that and would rather this than a large group of fake friends, like I have had in the past.

Since we're back at school it means back to reality, and back to school work. This first week back will be stressful I know but I have plans for the weekend I am absolutely looking forward to. Once I can study my butt off for my two exams this week and finish up the little homework here and there for other classes, then I get to relax once again. The rest of the semester I need to take week by week. I know there will be many exams and papers piled on top of one another but if I manage my time wisely I know I can improve.

Spring Break!

Finally, time for Spring Break. This semester has been so packed full of work that it feels so nice to have a week of absolutely nothing to worry about. This week gives everyone a chance to relax away from the rush of school, sit home with family, and not have anything to stress over.

This past week was pretty fun I have to say. All of our friends are pledging a fraternity this semester so we've basically been hanging out with all of the pledge brothers. This group of kids is, might I say, interesting. We laugh so hard when we just sit around and talk. While of course they go off and do whatever they do, which of course we cannot know about, I sit around and wait for them to come back. I don't mind because its usually me and three other friends not involved in greek life just yet so we get to watch them go.

For the frat that they are all joining, they had to participate in one of the sorority's talent show. Might I add that for their performance, 8 of them borrowed my "booty shorts" as they call them. The show consisted of a group of boys dancing around in nothing but tights and shorts to songs like california girls and baby got back. It was quite the show and I was left without words afterwards.

Finally, the drama is finally starting to die down. While those few are still not speaking to any of us, its pretty much over. Nobody cares anymore since the year is almost over. We're all just going along with the silly little games and not spending any time trying to fix or rekindle and broken friendships. Things happen and we can all move on like mature college students.

Drama Drama Drama

The past two weeks have been absolutely the most stressful so far this semester. Knowing that this is the last week coming up until spring break is the only thing keeping me going right now. Well, that and my friends and family.

And so the drama begins...yet again. Our one friend had her boyfriend visiting for the past two weeks. The only problem is, there is her best friend who is ABSOLUTELY in love with her and its so obvious to see. While her boyfriend was here, it just broke his heart to see her with him. He knows thats its unhealthy for him to be so in love with her, and was almost over it. Just as he was about over it, of course her boyfriend went back home. As soon as that happened he took her back in and is now completely wrapped around her finger. It kills all of us to watch because those were two of our great friends and now they are a complete wreck that no one wants to be around.

Well for another week straight my roommate has completely ignored my existence. Why? Thats a good question because I have absolutely no idea. Its not even worth arguing over or stressing about because its just getting ridiculous. Next year I'm going to have the best roommates coming into my third semester and I cannot wait. My roommate next year is my best friend that I met here at school and I spend literally all of my time with her. We get sick of each other at points but not afraid to tell one another. That is the one problem I have now. My roommate won't just tell me what is wrong. Its high school all over again.

And it Continues ...

Well this past week was not as drama filled as the past but there is still that lingering tension in the air from the last big blowup. Roommates not speaking to one another, old friends completely ignoring one another, and random blow ups from the most unexpected people. Last week was full of stress from exams, fights, papers, and just lack of sleep in general. This week was finally more relaxed and things are starting to settle out. What it is time to focus on now it getting a job. being broke while at college is probably one of the most nerve wracking things because you never have any money to do anything at all. If you want food late at night, or just to go out to eat with some friends, it can never happen because of your lack of money. Yes when I go home I get a few dollars here and there from my parents, but I hate being dependent on their money, I want my own.

This Wednesday Rob's mom made us a wonderful dinner once again. We finally all got to sit down in the common room together like a family again. It had been a while since we were all to sit together without there being too much tension in the room. Two of our friends are in a huge fight and the one is ignoring the other, but as of this week, that has lessened. It's good to see the two of them at least speaking again even though they may not exactly be friends.

The fights and the drama will continue, but I just hope things continue to improve in the next week. Maybe this week I'll find a job, keep my grades up, and avoid even more stress.

High School Never Ends

Well this week was more than stressful for more than half of our friends. Between relationship drama as always, tons of homework, exams, papers, and of course friendships that are just ripping apart at the seams, the emotions in the family have been through every stage you could possibly think of.

On a happy note, our friend Cait and her boyfriend of one year finally got to see one another. While this sounds weird, it is. Her boyfriend lives in England and they met over the computer last year. None of us truly know the entire story here, but now that we've all met him, we know the story was real. Dan is a charming boy with an English accent that we all love and we can see that he really does care for Cait, which is what we really care about.

Monday was Valentines day and for my entire life I have never truly appreciated this so-called holiday. Not to sound corny, but this year was absolutely different because I actually had someone who cared about me and wanted to show it by taking me out. We've only been together a few months, but spending Valentine's day with him was special and I enjoyed every single second of it.

After our precious moments with one another, all of our friendships have blown up way beyond anything before. A few of us had some issues in the past semester but those had drifted off and forgotten about, so we thought. Little did we know they were bringing up the issues again dragging another mutual friend into it. Well that friend turned on us and things blew up way out of proportion. Long story short, there are a few people not speaking to me and its not so enjoyable. All I can o is brush it off and move on because I don't want to be in high school anymore.

That stupid little fight that turned into a big one did not help the stress of my week. between two exams, a paper, and plenty of reading, quizzes, classes, and cheerleading I have been mentally exhausted for days. This weekend is set aside to catching up on reading, sleeping, studying, and friendships that are still close to me.

Fun, Family, and Drama

Well this past week has been quite the dramatic one. To start off, some new friendships have been created, but some are quickly starting to drift away. Some relationships on the floor we believe have gotten to a point where they have just taken it too far. While not going into detail because it is not my business or anyone else's, all I will say is this has been affecting who gets along on the floor and who is friends with one another. The problem got to a point where nobody could even take it and everything was put out on the table and each person was confronted with the problems. Most of them have been resolved and it is a little more peaceful here on b100.

Aside from the fights, there is always the constant laughing that is going on. Last weekend we were able to throw a small super bowl party in the common room. We all chipped in for pizza and snacks and drinks for everyone to enjoy while enjoying a very good game a football and what we thought was an amazing halftime show. We shared a lot of laughs and joked with eachother the entire night. Nights like this are what makes us such a family.

Once again, there were pranks on the floor due to the fact that NOBODY locks their door. While nothing gets stolen or broken and nobody has any reason not to trust one another, still they should know something will happen if their door is unlocked. Our friend pennsy made a threat to duct tape someones bed to their ceiling. When hearing this, while pennsy was gone, my boyfriend Justinn and best friend Jasmine saran wrapped everything they could find in his room to his bed. the entire bed was covered when he came in to find his room wrecked. Nothing of course was destroyed, but the look on his face was priceless. Maybe he learned his lesson by now ...

Finally, this past week a few of us went to the mall to shop a little, but mainly for jobs. After going into at least ten stores of interest, we received the same answer from every one - "We're not hiring, but always accepting applications." Losing hope, we got rid of the applications we took and left the mall. By them telling us that is basically a nice way of saying you won't get hired.

Well there are always stories to come here on b100 and this will continuee on for the rest of the semester.

A quiet, but simple a B100 week

Well this week was kind of a dull one, but our family made the absolute best of it as always. To start off, we spent every second that we had free, or the time we should have been doing our homework and studying, a small group of us huddled in one room and played Fifa '11 for Xbox. While it sounds like a waste of time, the joy we get out of playing this silly game is insane. We laugh, we yell and scream at one another, but yet while on separate teams in the game still live together as a family.

One of the nights we were crammed into that little room playing Fifa, the annoying and piercing sound of the fire alarm started to go off. Knowing it was a drill, we all got up and walked outside without question. I didn't know that it happened to be snowing that night and didn't wear my shoes so I ended up jumping onto my boyfriend's back for the entire time we stood outside. Once we were allowed back inside, only our group of friends would enjoy turning the lights off and dancing to the blinking lights of the fire alarm, to our own music, until it went off. The smallest things amuse this group of college students.

This past week, our good friend Rob's mom decided she wanted to make a dinner for the entire floor and family. She made delicious Chicken Parmesan with Tortellini which made everyone happy. Being the odd one in the family, I needed a special plate made for me since I don't eat spaghetti sauce ... except for pizza. Rob's mom was thanked a million times and her idea was more than appreciated.

Lately we've been having a few problems with some of the friends in our "family" but we've been doing our best to work through  it and not make it worse. We love each other as we love our own family, and we have the best time when we're all together.

Beginning of our Family

About five months ago, a group of about 25 freshman students met at Stockton College. More than a quarter of them were on the same tribe from SOAR and immediately created an unbreakable bond. Through roommates and friends from home, everyone seemed to gather on B-100 almost every day. I was not included in the immediate group, but I was quickly brought in by my roommate and friends from my tribe that happened to be on the same floor. Needless to say, we all became a family. We fight like family, we laugh like family, and of course we love like family. We have formed a family, but a couple of us have also formed relationships that we never thought we would find.  While of course we've had fall outs of some friends, we've also gained some new "members of the family" and treat everyone equally. The family has reached the point that we even call the RA of B-100 DAD.

Throughout the semester we tend to get, in a way, a bit out of control. We are constantly screaming, fighting, laughing, playing video games, and of course the many many pranks that are played on everyone daily. The main purpose of this blog is to basically showcase our shenanigans that happen every week. This group of kids is unlike any other. We are all individually unique while all come together one. From different races, to different majors, to just different interests and backgrounds, this family has stuck together and supported one another through our first semester and we are now prepared for our second.

Each post may include one long story/prank/event that happened in that week, or could be several of our shenanigans. There is never any guessing of what this family will do next . . .
